USB Cash Drawer Kicker for Printer Independence
Electronically open your cash drawer without the use of a POS receipt printer. Achieve printer independence, improving performance, particularly when compared to using an impact receipt printer for drawer kicking.
Supported Operating Systems:
Works with Windows 10 operating systems. Currently there is no driver support for Windows 11. Some websites advertise new driver support for Windows 11. However, our testing labs have not approved these drivers for use in a stable environment and is therefore considered to be unsupported for both Home and Pro editions for Windows 11.
Installation Notes:
Upon installing the drawer kick software drivers, you should see the Prolific USB to Serial Comm port driver listed under Port (COM & LPT) in Windows Device Manager. It will identify the COM port used for emulation. The following example shows our install using port COM3.
Once the driver has been successfully installed in Windows, you can then access your Station Configuration in RedTail to set the drawer kick to the COM port as identified in Windows Device Manager. Navigate to the appropriate station name. You can perform a drawer kick test from within that screen simply by clicking the Test Drawer kick button. Once the COM port is selected in this configuration screen, the printer settings are no longer considered. Therefore, it does not matter what printer (and corresponding kick codes) is selected.
Remember to Save your settings when making station configuration changes.
